Crookston Active Transportation Action Plan
Crookston is working to expand safe and convenient walking and bicycling options in town by creating an Active Transportation Master Plan. The Plan will identify short- to long-term opportunities to advance active transportation in the city and identify the action items that will lead to implementation of the recommendations and ideas in the plan. The City will receive additional technical assistance to start implementing the active transportation action plan in spring of 2026.
This project is led by a local planning team that includes people from the following organizations:
- Downtown Crookston Development Partnership
- Crookston Public Schools
- Crookston City Council
- Crookston Parks and Recreation
- Crookston Housing and Economic Development Authority
- Polk County Public Health
- Riverview Health
- The University of Minnesota – Crookston
- Northwest Regional Development Commission
- MnDOT District 2
This Active Transportation Action Plan is funded through MnDOT’s Active Transportation Program.
To create a Plan that works for Crookston’s residents, we want to learn about the way you move today and how we might make walking, biking, and rolling (e.g. other mobility devices like scooters or wheelchairs) a safer, more accessible, and enjoyable option in the future. We look forward to your input.
