MnDOT is planning to reconstruct Hwy 16/63 and make Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) improvements. In 2030, the project will:

    • Remove the entire road from Tracy Rd. to Griswold St. and replace it with new materials
    • The City of Spring Valley will replace local sewer and water utilities
    • Install new and upgrade ADA facilities from the Hwy 16/63 intersection to Sample Rd.

During the summer 2023, we heard from community members about their experiences with and priorities for the road. We received suggestions regarding improvements for roadway intersections and pedestrian facilities.

Based on this feedback, we’ve developed concept improvements. As MnDOT prepares to design of the roadway, we are again seeking input to help us prioritize this work.

People are welcome to participate by reviewing the information that follows and provide feedback through the survey. They can also join us Wednesday, May 22 at a public meeting. The information is the same.

This survey will close June 5, 2024.

We are planning to reconstruct portions of Hwy 16/Hwy 63 and make ADA improvements.

From Tracy Rd to Griswold St., we plan to remove the road surface and replace it with new materials. We also plan to replace the sidewalks and make other improvements.

We do not plan to make any changes to the road from the Hwy 16 intersection to Co. Rd. 12. However, we plan to make pedestrian improvements, sidewalk repairs and improve drainage.

Please take this short survey about Hwy 63 from Tracy Rd. to Griswold St. Your feedback is important and will help shape the future of this roadway.

This survey will close at midnight Aug. 30, 2023.
