The City of Worthington in partnership with Nobles County is developing an active transportation action plan. The plan will include key next steps to make walking, biking, and rolling safer and more comfortable. The planning team is working together to develop a vision and goals for the plan. The action planning process will also include implementation support, such as technical assistance or demonstration project support.

The Worthington Active Transportation Plan builds from previous work such as the 2015 Worthington Active Living Plan and local Safe Routes to School projects. Using a comprehensive approach to analyze the current transportation network, the plan will offer recommendations that address key barriers, gaps, and destinations. By engaging the full diversity of Worthington residents, this plan will work to imagine and plan for a city and region where all can walk, bike, or roll across Worthington and beyond.

Get involved

We need your help identifying how we might make walking, biking, and rolling (e.g., other mobility devices like scooters and wheelchairs) a safer, more accessible, and enjoyable option in Worthington and Nobles County. We welcome your input and look forward to our active transportation future.

Thank you for your suggestions. While singletrack and walking trails within the park will not be included in the recommendations developed for this plan, we will add your comment about connections to the park to our list.
