Hwy 52 and 2nd St. SW
During busy times, southbound traffic exiting onto 2nd Street backs up onto Highway 52. This causes safety issues because of conflicts with fast-moving traffic. Increased travel demand in and around downtown Rochester also contributes to congestion and safety issues. These challenges are expected to intensify as downtown continues to grow and change.
Project goals
- Identify future needs and improvements in the area necessary as traffic patterns change.
- Find and choose road improvement ideas to improve safety and make traffic flow better.
- The completed study will help agencies apply for funding and the eventual construction.
