Hwy 27 — east Little Falls

Project study

MnDOT is taking a detailed look at how Highway 27 in east Little Falls is used today. This study will develop design solutions to improve how people drive, walk, bike, and travel along the road.

What we learn will guide us in planning a 2031 project that will:

• Resurface or reconstruct segments of the road
• Update traffic signals
• Improve sidewalks and crossings

Goals

• Look at traffic flow and safety issues
• Review design options to see what is realistic, affordable and effective
• Find ways to improve safety, mobility and how intersections work for all users

Key focus areas

• Multi-modal accommodations
• Traffic patterns under existing and projected future weekday and weekend peak traffic volumes
• Preferable traffic control for the corridor (Ex. Signals or Roundabouts)
• Access to businesses, schools and neighborhoods
• Sidewalk, trail, and crossing improvements
