The Statewide Multimodal Transportation Plan (SMTP) is Minnesota's highest-level policy plan for transportation. It sets a 20-year trajectory toward advancing the recently updated Minnesota GO Vision. The SMTP is a shared commitment with our transportation partners across the state.

The SMTP is updated every five years, and it is now time to begin the next update. Frequent updates help us respond to new trends, challenges, and opportunities that will shape Minnesota's future.

Thank you for asking this question and for highlighting the importance of including non-governmental voices on the PAC.

The Policy Advisory Committee (PAC) is made up of representatives of smaller units of government across the state as well as associations, non-profit organizations, and councils. The project team will publish the full list of PAC members once membership is finalized so that everyone can see exactly who is involved.

As the project team created the PAC invite list, we took care to include members with expertise across all modes of transportation - from planes to bicycles. Several members on the PAC will represent multi-modal users, including Move Minnesota, the Active Transportation Advisory Committee, and the Minnesota Public Transit Association. Involvement from these groups, along with our planned public engagement activities, will help ensure that a wide range of multi-modal users' perspectives are considered throughout the SMTP update process.
