We're conducting a study to identify strategies to increase the availability of wheelchair accessible vehicles (WAVs). We're also looking for ways to improve service quality and provide cost-effective transportation for riders with disabilities.
Identify challenges affecting WAV accessibility and service
Examine supply and demand issues for WAVs
Identify possible measures to ensure the punctuality and reliability of WAV services
Evaluate how supply streams, market practices, and technological capabilities impact WAV services
Research and analyze models that have been successful elsewhere
Collect information on legislation and policy changes in other states
We want to hear from you
We want to hear from stakeholders and the public. During monthly meetings, we'll cover your issues and identify solutions. We'll hold hybrid meetings open to anyone at the MnDOT Central Office Building and via Microsoft Teams. Sign up for the mailing list to learn about our meetings and other details about the study.
Our report is due to the legislature by Feb. 15, 2026.
