Audit Overview

On June 12, 2026, the project team hosted a walk audit, bike audit, and community outreach event to gather input on transportation and connectivity in Mapleton.

MnDOT staff, community and regional leaders, and local residents participated in the audits, sharing ideas for improving walking and biking connections throughout the community. Common themes included strengthening connections to key destinations such as Heritage Park, enhancing pedestrian and bicycle infrastructure, and building on opportunities for future growth and revitalization. The day concluded with a tabling event at Mapleton's Summer Fest, where the team connected with more than 60 community members and encouraged participation in the online survey and interactive map.
