MnDOT is planning to reconstruct Hwy 250 from the Hwy 250 bridge over the Root River to Hwy 16. We plan to remove the entire road and replace it with new materials. During that time, the City of Lanesboro will also replace sewer and water utilities. This project is tentatively scheduled for 2026.

Earlier this year, we heard from over 110 people about their experiences with and priorities for the road. We heard suggestions to improve intersections, bike and pedestrian crossings, and sidewalks. Click here to see a recap of the community’s input.

Based on this feedbackwe’ve developed options for what the redesigned Hwy 250 might look like. As MnDOT prepares to begin the engineering design of the roadway, we are again seeking input to help us prioritize this work.

Thank you for your input!

When you come from out of town, how do you access downtown Lanesboro?
