From 351 survey responses and 76 pins placed on the interactive map, the following themes emerged.

  • Pedestrians do not feel safe walking or crossing Hwy 65 and Hwy 23
  • The top three improvements needed on Hwy 65 and Hwy 23 as identified by the survey are:
    1. More vehicle safety at intersections
    2. Smoother vehicle flow
    3. Vehicle access to/from Hwy 65 and Hwy 23 and side streets

    • The top three improvements needed on Hwy 65 and Hwy 23 as identified by the survey are:
      1. More vehicle safety at intersections 
      2. Smoother vehicle flow
      3. Vehicle access to/from Hwy 65 and Hwy 23 and side streets

    Some shared specific safety concerns near Corbons, The Dollar General, Dairy Queen, and others noted the importance of slowing down traffic through town.

    We will use what we heard to identify other improvements to Hwy 65 and Hwy 23 in the coming months. Hear about future opportunities through the project email updates and on this project website.
