Hwy 44 - Spring Grove, Caledonia, Hokah

We are planning to resurface Highway 44 from Spring Grove to Hokah, a nearly 22‑mile corridor. This is the first step in a multi‑year process that will lead to future construction projects.

At this early stage, the project team is gathering information about the highway. This will help us understand and prioritize what improvements are needed before moving into detailed design and construction in later phases.

Project goals
As we plan for future construction, the project work will include resurfacing the roadway. It will also look for ways to improve:

• Safety for people driving, walking, biking, and rolling
• How well traffic flows
• Access to homes, farms, businesses, and local roads
• Bicycle and pedestrian connections
• Traffic calming in communities along the corridor

In 2028, we plan to construct a roundabout at the intersection of Highway 44 and Highway 76 in Caledonia. Additional information can be found on the project website.

Hwy 76 Resurfacing
