Why Now?

In collaboration with the Highway 71 corridor study in Park Rapids, MnDOT identified Highway 34 as a visioning study to identify pedestrian crossings improvements and other longer-term goals. Potential improvements could be incorporated as part of a pavement resurfacing planned in the next 5-10 years.

Corridor Needs

  • Pavement resurfacing to extend the life and ride quality of the road
  • Potential to improve pedestrian crossing and safety
  • Long-term goals

Study Opportunities

  • Opportunities for improved pedestrian crossings
  • Future goals, potential improvements, and projects that could be implemented in the next 5-10 years
  • Improvements could be recommended at school crossings as identified in the Park Rapids Safe Routes to School Plan
