Project overview

In 2026, the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) will reconstruct the Hwy 24 bridge over I-94 between 179th Street and Ash Street in the City of Clearwater in Wright County.

Although current funding only allows us to reconstruct the Hwy 24 interchange at I-94, MnDOT will evaluate the entire one-mile stretch of Hwy 24 through Clearwater, from Wright Co. Rd. 7 to the Mississippi River bridge.

Included in the evaluation of larger project area

  • Current and future safety and mobility needs
  • Pedestrian and bicycle resources
  • Access needs
  • Long-term vision for this area of Hwy 24
  • Analysis will result in a selected preliminary design

This will support future funding opportunities, allow the community to plan ongoing development, and minimize rework when the rest of the area is reconstructed in the future.
