    Why is the design more efficient than four lanes?

    The amount of traffic we currently have and expect in the future isn't enough to need four lanes. Adding those extra lanes could cause some problems, like:

    • More people have to give up portions of their property.
    • There will not be enough room for people to walk or bike safely.
    • Crosswalks get longer.
    • It takes longer to turn onto Hwy 23 because the distance will be increased.

    What has changed from the designs presented in 2021?

    3rd Ave. SE intersection with Hwy 23 will close and 3rd Ave. SE will become a cul-de-sac.
