MnDOT is planning a robust concrete resurfacing project on northbound lanes of Hwy 71 / Hwy 23 from approximately business US 71 (near Kandiyohi County Law Enforcement Center) to the Hwy 71 & Hwy 23 “split” north of Eagle Lake. The proposed project will make a significant investment in improving pavement life and smoothness. The project also provides an opportunity to make cost effective improvements to safety and mobility. This stretch of road serves more than 15,000 vehicles per day, which is one of the highest traffic volumes on any state highway in District 8.

    Hello Mr. Martinka,

Thank you for your question. The proposed project would be a complete reconstruction with removal of the existing asphalt pavement, to a new rebuild with concrete pavement.
