Tell us what you think of the design options
We need your input on the future vision for Hwy 71 south of the Hwy 34 intersection. A follow‑up survey is now available based on the design concepts shared at the April 9 open house.
During the open house, project staff presented two types of improvement options for Hwy 71 south of Hwy 34:
• Medians with pedestrian crossing islands
• Roundabouts
These concepts were developed to improve safety, support walking and biking, and ensure the corridor continues to function well for local residents, businesses, and visitors.
- Medians with pedestrian crossing islands offer a different approach, creating shorter, safer crossings for people walking and bicycling while helping calm traffic.
- Roundabouts have been used widely across Minnesota and have shown strong safety and efficiency benefits at the right locations.
We’d like your feedback as we evaluate which design best meets community needs and long‑term corridor goals.
