Public invited to Nov. 18 Highway 52 Pine Island noise wall voting meeting
You are invited to attend an in-person public meeting on Nov. 18, 2026, in Pine Island to learn about noise wall voting for residents and property owners whose properties qualify for voting on the construction of the structures.
The focus of the meeting is for residents and property owners in areas that will qualify for the noise wall voting, based on state law.
Here’s when and where you can stop by to learn, listen and ask questions:
- Wednesday, November 18
- 5:30 – 7 p.m.
- American Legion Charles Cowden Post 184, 108 1st Ave SE, Pine Island, MN 55963
Two locations were determined to be reasonable and feasible for building noise walls that will provide noticeable levels of noise reduction.
Residents and property owners of the areas that would see noticeable levels of noise reduction have been mailed information about the meeting and the voting process, which runs into early December.
Noise analysis was done for locations along Highway 52 in preparation for the scheduled road construction project in 2028.
You can learn more about the process by watching a MnDOT video on noise barriers.
MnDOT invites and encourages participation by all. If you need an ASL, foreign language interpreter, or other reasonable accommodation, or need documents in an alternative format (such as braille or large print), please email your request to Janet Miller at ADArequest.dot@state.mn.us or call 651-366-4720 or 1-800-657-3774 (Greater Minnesota); 711 or 1-800-627-3529 (Minnesota Relay).
