Early Winter 2025 Feedback

In February and March of 2025, we shared the updated design concept for the Hwy 14 and Broadway Ave. intersection. We invited the community to review and provide comments on the refined design. People could take part online or at an in-person public meeting. We also welcomed written comments and phone calls.
What we heard from the community:
- Satisfaction between the current and proposed design increased with people who attended the public meeting and filled out the survey.
- People who were more satisfied with the proposed design said it has:
- Traffic calming measures
- Increases safety for pedestrians and bicyclists with the raised walkways
- Improves ease of taking both left and right turns
- Keeps some access at 1st Ave.
- Improved visibility from removal of landscaping and addition of traditional turn lane
- People who were less satisfied with the current intersection design shared that it was due to:
- Safety concerns for bicyclists and pedestrians due to the additional left-turn lane
- Desire for more vehicle speed reduction and monitoring of cars running red lights
- Traffic congestion due to the right-turn design
- Difficulty taking both right and left turns at the intersection
Thank you to everyone who shared their ideas and feedback. Our team is carefully reviewing all comments and input. We will share an update and next steps later this year.
